Caitlin Glennon, Super Cassette & Drunken Logic 7pm $10
Caitlin Glennon, Super Cassette and Drunken Logic play acoustic sets at the Octopus Literary Salon! 7-9PM, $10
With two full-length albums under her belt (Hard Learned Truths , Separate Grooves ) and a kick-ass live band, East Bay singer-songwriter Caitlin Glennon brings her version of indie rock to the stage: pop-punk, rock & roll, lyrics-driven ballads, and a few all-out jams for good measure.
Twin brothers play guitar and sing in manic harmony, while a drummer and a bassist tether them to the ground. Super Cassette is the fight between lush pop songs, kinetic rhythms, and the squalid squeal of two guitars.
With the daring to transform a country ballad into a reggae tune and the scathing wit for social and personal satire, Drunken Logic makes music that “blend[s] more genres and styles than we have room to list, all in the name of creating an eclectic fast-forward sound that’s shaken up after each track” (Vanyaland).
This year, Jake has returned to his home state of California to release DL’s third record, The Loudness Wars — an unblinking reflection on the forces roiling our country and the people left in their wake.
