Aya De Leon's (EAST BAY) feminist heist novel, SIDE CHICK NATION’s protagonist, Dulce García, whose unhealed trauma and appetite for thrills lead her into an endless party of sugar daddies in the Caribbean. Until she gets caught in Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico—and witnesses both the heartbreaking disaster of climate change, and the international vultures who plunder the tragedy for a financial killing.

Kate Raphael (EAST BAY) is a San Francisco Bay Area writer, feminist and queer activist and KPFA radio journalist. She is the author of two books in her "Palestine Mystery Series," Murder Under the Fig Tree, and Murder Under the Bridge. She is a long time co-creator of Ultraviolet, The Newsletter of Queer Insurrection.

Benjamin Heim Shepard (BROOKLYN) is the author of the semi-autobiographical "Illuminations on Market Street." San Francisco in the early 1990s. Cab is on the deep end of a losing streak. After having been dumped yet again, he moves to Haight-Ashbury fresh out of college. AIDS is an immediate and untreatable reality. He finds himself working in a housing program for people with HIV/AIDS. He starts drafting a narrative of every person with whom he’s slept: those who dropped him, those he adored, and those he let go of without a second thought.
