NaNoWriMo Writer Series 7pm

NaNoWriMo Presents NaNoLitMo!

The new, exciting, literary reading series for Wrimos and the wide world of local writers who dare to write greatly (or you know, who dare to write anything at all, which counts).

Linda Norton will be our guest of honor! Linda Norton’s book, The Public Gardens: Poems and History, was a finalist for an LA Times Book Prize in poetry (though the book is half prose). Her next book, Wite-Out: Love and Work, will be published late in 2017. Two of her recent poems in Fourteen Hills have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. In 2014 Linda received a Creative Work Fund award for work on a project about incarceration, families, and Oakland.

Come listen to her read, then partake in a mini-writing challenge to which she'll challenge us! Then enjoy a raucous Q&A with the audience in which no holds will be barred!

Join us at Octopus Literary Salon in Oakland as we showcase local authors of all genres in our, new, bimonthly series. Each event will have a reading, a writing-related activity, and a Q&A session with the author.

Come support your fellow authors and help us celebrate NaNoWriMo all year long.
