Madeleine Adkins Photography Opening 4pm
For Madeleine Adkins, photography is a way to connect—to a place or a moment. “Taking photographs is largely instinctual for me," she explains. “It comes from a gut feeling that I need to record a particular location or situation." Particularly drawn to landscapes, architecture, animals, and abstract patterns, Madeleine photographs images that stir her emotions in some way.
The photographs in this show include some of the places that Madeleine has lived—Japan, France, and Colorado—and also other places that she has traveled. A mixture of color and black-and-white, as well as digital and analog, these images are some of Madeleine's favorites, from her first single-lens reflex camera in the 1980s to digital images from the present.
