She has held exhibitions in Amsterdam, Spain, Brazil and the United States. Marina spent 9 years in Barcelona, Spain, working as a restorer and an artist. As a consequence of her work with restoring altars for churches and temples or small objects for private clients, she was able to observe people interacting witht heir ritual objects, providing her with inspiration for her art practice. Despite her travels, much of her art practice is based upon themes and imagery seeded by her childhood experiences growing up on an island, in her native country, where she was always in touch with the ocean. Currently she lives in Oakland, California, where she works in different projects, all with the recurrent theme of memory and the relationship between people and their objects.
