Shape the Future of Medicine: Art, Books & Music 7pm
Our healthcare system is broken. Help fix it.
We invite healthcare professionals and patients alike for an evening of brainstorming, wine and live music. Meet colleagues from the community, mingle and network.
How do we promote inclusivity in medicine and make the medical office more welcoming to everyone?
We have invited Mexico City born, San Diego based artist, Rafael López to create an image that can be used in the medical office setting to send a positive message to patients that they are welcomed, respected and cherished.
This evening we will look at his creations. Rafael will be in attendance! He will discuss his work and help us come up with ideas for the new image. There is a GoFundMe site to raise money to commission a new painting that can be made into posters and distrubuted widely to local health clinics.
Please check out the GoFundMe here:
Please consider donating whether or not you can attend.
The East Bay Children's Book Program is an incredible East Bay resource. The program provides free books for teachers, doctors, dentists and just about anyone that will help get books into the hands of kids that need them. The founder and board president, Ann Katz will join us, explain the program and answer any questions. Pediatricians will speak on the benefits of handing out books to their patients. Certainly the kids love it, but the doctors also report improved job satisfaction and more daily moments of joy.
Do you have music in your office? Music heals.
Local piano wizard, John Steven Morgan will perform! John has played Davies Symphony Hall & The Monterey Jazz Festival. He is one of the great pianists of our time.
There will be no sponsors & no pharmaceutical companies involved!
This event is free. Food and drink for sale.
