Songwriters in the Round: Jerry David DeCicca (The Black Swans), Sylvie Simmons & Colin Gilmore

Jerry DeCicca formed The Black Swans in 2004.  The debut masterpiece, Who Will Walk In The Darkness With You, was released by the infamous Delmore Recording Society.  4 fantastic albums and an EP followed.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Jerry recently moved to Texas.

He released his debut solo album Understanding Land in 2014 to much critical acclaim.

Sylvie Simmons is a Bay Area treasure. One of the great rock and roll journalists of all time, she may be best known for her career with Mojo Magazine, or her critically acclaimed biographies of Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg. This year she released her first ever recordings with the help of Giant Sand mastermind, Howe Gelb. The record is phenomenal. If you like ukulele you will be in heaven. If you don't like ukulele you will be converted. Expect a few Leonard Cohen songs too!

Sylvie was kind enough to invite her friend Colin Gilmore along for the night. Does that last name ring a bell? Yep, Colin's dad is the one and only Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and let's just say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The Huffington Post sez: "BEST AMERICANA/SINGER-SONGWRITER ALBUM OF 2013"
